Don't you hate to pay full price for anything? I always head straight for the sales, whether in a "real" store or an online store, I want to make sure I get the most bang for my buck. And if I'm going through the checkout process online and see a spot for a promotional code or discount code...I have to find one! During these searches I have found some great sources for discount codes and coupons.
Retailmenot.com is huge and has coupons that you can print and take to a brick-and-mortar store and also a plethora of online discount codes. You can search by store name or by category. It is rare to find a store that doesn't offer any type of discount and fans are encouraged to share any codes they discover. So if you find a discount, share!
CouponMountain.com is almost as big and popular as Retailmenot.com and both of these sites have an add-on so you can search directly from your toolbar.
Tjoos.com is up and coming and has a special program for merchants that encourages them to provide a unique Tjoos discount code. So if you have already used up all your promotions for your favorite store, check out Tjoos!
Ratepoint.com is a great site for research. If you're visiting a store for the first time, stop by Ratepoint and see if they have any reviews. Ratepoint also gives the merchant a place to post a coupon and is another great place to find unique codes. If you visit the Oh Cheri! account at Ratepoint, you'll find a discount code for 10% off AND a lot of great testimonials from our happy customers.
You could also call the store and just ask if they have a discount code. With our current economy, retailers are anxious to make every sale possible and it doesn't hurt to ask!
Of course, you should definitely join the mailing list of any store you shop at regularly. Most stores offer special discounts in their newsletter and if they send you a mailing you don't want to read it's super easy to click the delete button. Oh Cheri! sends 3-4 emails per month and always has at least one discount that we only offer to our mailing list. And for reading this blog I'll mention our current promotion, use discount code MAY15 for 15% off storewide, expires May 10.
