Check out Bonanzle, the eBay alternative

I recently stumbled across Bonanzle, a very cool website that has features similar to eBay but with much lower fees. I've been buying and selling on eBay since 1999 and I've seen a lot of changes, including the increase in seller expenses which has resulted in the unflattering but accurate nickname of "feeBay".

The format of Bonanzle is simple: Set up a "booth" with all the stuff you want to sell and then you can pretty much walk away. There's no charge to post items, you can leave them up as long as you like and they charge a very reasonable flat rate when you sell an item. I sold an item for $94.95 and Bonanzle charged me $3.00. Period. No insertion fee, no extra picture fee and the item was in my booth for weeks. On eBay I would have to relist every 7-10 days and pay again if it doesn't sell.

If you already have eBay auctions and/or feedback you can import all this information to your Bonanzle booth. This gives you instant credibility. Their traffic is about 350,000-400,000 hits per month, compared to eBay's 72 million so you won't get as many eyeballs looking at your stuff. But that also means less competition and if you're a buyer this could mean a great opportunity to "Make an Offer" on something you gotta have.

No doubt Bonanzle will change as they get bigger, even Walmart started as a homey little Mom-and-Pop shop. But if you're using eBay I recommend you at least wander over to Bonanzle and do some browsing. I especially like their Weird Stuff category which has subcategories ranging from Slightly Unusual to Totally Bizarre. Good times!

I have set up my Bonanzle booth with Squeem body shapers, but you can also get them from my store for the same price. The waist cincher in the photo is a best seller, available in men's and women's sizes and there are many more styles of shapewear at Oh Cheri!
